How Vaccines Work Video From the Smithsonian

I have written several times about vaccines and how vaccines work, which most of us in medicine consider the most beneficial and effective therapy ever developed to protect human health. Yes. it's that important. The number of lives saved and human misery prevented surely exceeds that provided by all other modern medicines, including antibiotics and chemotherapy drugs. I have posted the numbers before, but in case you didn't notice:

So every year in the US, we prevent over 4 million people from being infected, and have eliminated smallpox, diphtheria and paralytic polio. It's clear to see how important vaccinations are, so I wanted to share this great video that explains more about vaccinations.

How & why do vaccines work? The Smithsonian has a simple video that even your kids can understand.
